On April 27, Nicole Aptekar’s Expanded Taxonomy opened at Devotion Gallery in Brooklyn. This 15 piece collection of stacked paper sculptures is a continuation of the shapes and themes first explored in her show at Satellite 66. Most of these can be found on Nicole’s flickr.
There were two collaborations in the show. One of these, “Forever and now”, with Ian Baker, included a cut vinyl design escaping from the frame onto the wall.
The other is a larger cardboard piece with projection mapping by Mary Franck. This one is called “From a Great Height”.
